Mixed Up Priorities
Politicians talk about the heartland of America. I would like to hear more about the brainland.
Also, how many towns still have a discernable mainstreet? What percentage of the population live there? Do these mainstreets continue to thrive in the face of big box stores and exert a great influence on our cultural debate?
