DJ Lebowitz, probably the world's greatest punk rock piano player and a fixture of the old old (like really old) SF punk scene is going to be doing a live piano and vocal performance at the Riptide on Taraval (actually, just around the corner from my old house - I had no idea there was a bar there...).

It's going be in the style of the shows he used to do at the Sound of Music back in the early 80s which I was lucky enough to see once.

This guy is spectacular and deserves all the support he can get. If you have a chance, drop by and check it out. I'm so jealous...if I had the cash I would fly out there just to see this show.

Looking over the logs from the past few weeks it looks like about 60% of my search engine traffic is from people searching some variation of "you need permission to perform this action". Either this means that there are a lot of people out there having problems with Vista's file locking. Checking, I am actually a first page result on google for that phrase.

This handily beats out all previous competitors for the title of most search results directed here for no good reason, including F-R-E-E-P-O-R-N-O.

At long last the old house on Whispering has sold, closing the books on the sorry saga of the last 10 years.. I don't even want to think about the amount of money that I lost (I had to actually bring a check to the closing to cover realtor's fees), but even with tens of thousands of dollars down the drain it's worth it to get out from under the crushing monthly payments and the worry of something expensive happening to the house.

Well...Now what?

Anyone who can diagnose his condition will get a free lick-a-stick package, with the sticks hardly even used.

Only the third picture and beyond counts.

Okay, since I don't want to spoil anything for people that have not yet watched it, the following post is very, very circumspect.

It took me a moment to realize that after the episode was over the thing that they showed that had a critical character in it was a cut scene from tonight's episode, and not a scene from next week. Given that, does that mean that I saw what I think I saw on tonight's episode and that what I think happened has actually happened?

Please. comfort me and tell me I am wrong. But do it in such a way that anyone watching the show will have no idea what we are talking about.
