Happy Birthday to Me

| 4 Comments | No TrackBacks

So, yesterday was my birthday. 42 years old. Older by 12 years than I ever thought I would be.

Spent the evening hanging out with friends - it's nice to know that there are people who like me for who I am, enjoy talking to me, and are willing to be around me even when I am not able to be much fun. Got calls from Will and Dan, which was nice - I haven't had a chance to actually talk to either for a while.

It occured to me that it was ten years ago almost exactly that my previous marriage was winding down. What a difference ten years can make. Or, rather, not.

Hey there, I hope you had a least a bit of fun last night in light of recent events. Everyone was glad to have you there and happy we could celebrate your birthday with you! Remember that if you need anything, we're all here for you...seriously, no joke...anything at all. Oh, and thanks for the salad! Sorry I couldn't get an anime character on your cake though...damn. Call or email if you feel like getting together for dinner or anything.

Thanks Kristin, I did have a good time and it was nice to see people. I wish I coiuld have been a bit more lively, but I did have a good time. It was very sweet of you guys to get me a cake and sing "Happy Birthday" to me. I really do appreciate it.

Definitely up for dinner or going out sometime.

Hey Ed, just wanted to say "hi" and tell you to have a good night. Call if you need anything!

Ummm...I feel like a total heel because there your birthday was in big red letters on my dayplanner and I still managed to forget to call you. Sorry Ed!...But happy belated birthday! Maybe Rick and I can take you out for a drink next time we are down in the Springs for a belated celebration.
